So I had an odd dream last night. I only remember bits and pieces of it, but two things I DO remember:

1. A great friend of mine - a caller for Irish dancing and coordinator of Irish cultural events - named Sam there, and his wife Annie had texted me, saying “Is Sam there with you? We heard the commotion and decided to check it out, but I wanted to make sure that he was there with you.”

2. The “commotion” in question was a zombie attack, and my pal Sam was a zombie fighter. I remember dodging zombies in the area I was in, and then Sam was there, his long white hair out of its ponytail and him dressed in functional, protective black leather attire. He was the only one I recognized in the chaos, so it makes sense that I ran to him and held on for dear life.

Long story short, my friend Sam, the Ceili caller, is a closeted zombie fighter. I just know it.

Two Halloweens ago, I was a zombie with my two buddies here, and I’m proud to say I even learned the “Thriller” dance because of it!
My friends went for the dainty zombie/vampire look, whereas I went for the raggedy, creepy pirate zombie look. We each did our own makeup and costumes - I spent a total of $20 on my entire ensemble, in comparison to the Halloween stores asking for outrageous prices for a flimsy bit of nylon fabric and makeup you only use/get to use once.
I’m very proud of this outfit. And this picture! This is one of those rare times when the red-eye effect makes the picture even MORE awesome :D
