It’s my mum’s birthday, and the phone rings. My little 3-year old niece (with my sis/her mum accompanying her) sings “Happy Birthday” into the answering machine for all to hear.

Ok, so I’m reading ‘The Secret Garden’ (which I love dearly, and have loved for some time).
A lot of the local characters speak with Yorkshire accents - it’s clearly stated that they do. I couldn’t remember what a Yorkshire accent sounded like, so off to Youtube I went…

My 15-month old niece Bree and I commandeered the rocking chair and watched Pocoyo on my laptop - she digs the show, and I dig the music and all-around cleverness of the design.
Oh and Stephen Fry narrates the show.
That makes it worthwhile in general.

If you haven’t checked it out, do so. They mostly have photos of retarded and/or horrific cakes that somehow exist due to lack of creativity/excess of pure wrong-ness (and they have a lot of fun making fun of said cakes), but they do feature adorable/gorgeous creations every Sunday.
If you want a good laugh, may I suggest this site? The author never ceases to make posts that induce some manner of amused sound effect from me.
Especially the post about the baby carrot jockeys.

I adore this movie to no end. Rapunzel has been the one Disney princess I can most associate with…not that I’m locked in a 40-foot tower or that I’ve been raised by a woman masquerading as my mother, mind you.
